SMBC Deacon Ministry

The Deacons Ministry serves as a vital extension of pastoral care within our church, dedicated to supporting the spiritual and physical well-being of the congregation. Rooted in the biblical model found in Acts 6:1–7 and 1 Timothy 3:8–13, our deacons are called to serve with humility. All of our deacons strive to reflect the heart of Christ by being servants first—upholding unity, promoting spiritual growth, and strengthening the fellowship of believers. Through their faithful service, they help build a caring and connected church community where every member feels valued and supported.

SMBC Deaconess Ministry

Our mission is to support our Pastor in his ministry and vision for the church. To stand upright before God our Father. Through prayer, study and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we prepare ourselves spiritually to assist in the spiritual responsibilities of the church and to glorify God through our service to others under the spiritual guidance of the Pastor and the Deacons. To maintain a team relationship with the Deacon Ministry, acknowledging that we are co-laborers in implementing the functions of the church ministry, especially the ministering of the Holy Ordinances of Communion and Baptism. By doing so, we will strengthen the church and assist in advancing the kingdom of God.

I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea.
