SMBC Youth Ministry

The Youth Ministry exists to guide our young people in developing a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ and a strong foundation of faith that will carry them through every stage of life. We aim to equip, empower, and encourage our youth to live boldly for Christ in their homes, schools, and communities. Our goal is to raise up a generation of believers who love God, serve others, and lead with integrity. The Youth Ministry is not just a program—it’s a family where young people are valued, heard, and inspired to make a difference for Christ.

To bring together people, instruments, and songs to create a worship atmosphere through music at Second Missionary Baptist Church. We currently consist of five Choirs, which are the Senior Choir, Male Chorus, Young Adult Choir, Youth Choir, and the Mass Choir which consist of a combination of all choirs. This gathering of Christian Worshipers is devoted to Ministering through songs and teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the inherent promises associated therewith. At the sound of the melodious music, the church body becomes united, and all focus turns to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

SMBC Missions and Outreach

Ministry will carry on missions representing God’s Church while serving on a religious mission to spread a religious faith among unbelievers and to engage in charitable work with religious support, reaching out to the community, spiritually and physically, through scripture, prayer, teaching the Word of God, providing food and clothing to the needy, and sending missionaries out to promote Christianity in a foreign country.  Following the Great Commission as stated by Jesus, our Lord and Savior, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. Grounded in Proverbs 3:5–6, our mission is to help young adults seek God’s direction in every area of their lives—faith, relationships, work, and service. Through Bible study, worship, outreach, small groups, and social events, we aim to create a space where young adults can connect authentically, serve passionately, and live out their faith boldly. The Young and Middle Adult Ministry is committed to building a generation of believers who lead with integrity, walk in purpose, and impact their world for Christ—both inside and outside the church walls.

The Cultural Arts Ministry

The Cultural Arts Ministry celebrates the creative gifts that God has placed within His people by using the arts to glorify Him and uplift others. Through music, dance, drama, visual arts, spoken word, and creative expression, this ministry seeks to communicate the Gospel in meaningful and impactful ways.

Pulpit Aide Ministry

The Pulpit Aide Ministry is devoted to serving the pastor, visiting ministers, and congregation with hearts of compassion and excellence. This ministry ensures that all pulpit and worship needs are met, helping to create a sacred and orderly environment where the Word of God can go forth without distraction. In addition to preparing the pulpit area and providing hospitality for guest speakers, the ministry extends its service through bereavement and benevolence care. Members offer comfort and assistance to families during times of loss, as well as support to those experiencing hardship—demonstrating the love of Christ through acts of kindness and compassion. The Pulpit Aide Ministry also takes responsibility for documenting the church’s history, preserving the legacy of God’s faithfulness through photographs, written records, and reports of ministry activities. By keeping an accurate record of the church’s journey, the ministry helps ensure that future generations can look back and see how God has worked in and through His people. Grounded in Galatians 6:10 – “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith,” the Pulpit Aide Ministry strives to honor God by honoring those who labor in His service. Through prayer, service, and compassion, the ministry seeks to uplift the pastor, strengthen the church family, and glorify God in all things.
